Mediterranean Diet

One of the most popular diets in the world is the Mediterranean Diet. The Mediterranean Diet is actually more of an eating lifestyle than a diet. Years of research has shown that people that live along the Mediterranean Sea are less likely to be overweight, suffer from heart disease and diabetes. Most of the health professionals that studied this group of people believe it is due to their healthy diet. Here are some tips on the Mediterranean Diet.

The Mediterranean Diet is fairly simple and very delicious. The Mediterranean Diet consists of eating lean meats and fish and lots of vegetables and fruits. Another main part of the Mediterranean Diet is the use of olive oil and the drinking of red wine.

Olive oil, lean meats and fish are all very low in LDL Cholesterol while giving the body important vitamins minerals and good HDL cholesterol. Wine has also been proven to be very good for the heart and circulatory system if drunk in moderation.

There are many great books on the Mediterranean Diet and most people can’t believe just how good many of the dishes taste. If you are looking for a great way to lose weight, eat healthy and enjoy delicious food, look towards the Mediterranean Diet.
